School Council

Our School Council is made up of 2 representatives from each Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 class, who are elected annually by the pupils in their class.  Meetings are held monthly at lunchtimes and give children the opportunity to input to decisions about how the school works.  Items for discussion may be taken back by individual representatives to their Class Councils.

School Council has been involved in several twinning events with St Johns Church of England School at Golcar, including visits to St Johns School, Huddersfield Town Hall and the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh.

Trip to York - June 2016

First we went to the hall, then we were picked up to go to the coach and then we had a fun road trip to York.

Secondly, we arrived at the train museum in York and we went inside and it was amazing.  We saw big and small trains.  I loved the bullet train.  Third of all we went to this fake train station.  There was a load of odd stuff like a food bar in a train!!!

Then we ate lunch and went to York Minster.  We saw lots of old artifacts. A few minutes later we went to a shop where I bought a phone notepad and a pencil that looked awesome.  Later on we went to the coach parking and headed back to school.  Saad, Year 6.

Trip to Tolson Museum - February 2016

Our School Councillors went to the Tolson Museum in Huddersfield, together with the representatives of the School Councillors from St. John's School at Golcar.  This was a great opportunity to get to know their 'buddies' from St John's as part of the school twinning project.
